About the Role
As a Senior Client Manager, you'll be the primary relationship steward for one of our most valued global clients headquartered in Japan, balancing trusted partnership with disciplined business execution. You'll operate at the intersection of client service, strategic planning, and portfolio management in a role that offers both depth and breadth of experience.
Key Responsibilities

Lead strategic relationship as the senior liaison in Japan for a designated key client, ensuring continuity in a long-standing and trusted partnership

Drive portfolio performance across relevant P&C lines in close collaboration with underwriting teams, contributing to planning, renewal strategy, and results monitoring

Orchestrate negotiations for renewal and transactional opportunities, ensuring disciplined execution and proper governance adherence

Develop engagement strategies aligned with broader client objectives, identifying opportunities to deepen and grow the relationship

Contribute to global initiatives by providing market insights to the global client strategy and supporting additional responsibilities as needed
About the Team
The Japan P&C Key Account Management team is responsible for managing and developing Swiss Re's most important client relationships in the Japanese market. The team works closely with underwriting, claims and other internal functions to balance strong client service, relationship continuity, disciplined portfolio steering and sustainable growth.
Given the relationship-driven nature of the Japan market, stability, consistency and strong internal coordination are critical success factors.
About You
You are a commercially minded relationship leader who combines client credibility with strategic thinking and disciplined execution. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate effectively across organizational levels, and can navigate complex stakeholder landscapes with confidence and diplomacy.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

Strong understanding of the Japanese re/insurance market and client dynamics

Proven ability to manage senior client relationships and contribute to profitable portfolio development

Solid knowledge of re/insurance products and business drivers

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
-
Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese
These are additional nice to haves:

8+ years of experience in P&C insurance or reinsurance, ideally across client management, underwriting or business development

Established network across the Japanese insurance industry and/or within Swiss Re globally

Experience supporting or operating within a global key account framework

Exposure to specialty lines of business

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling business narratives
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week
