Senior Marketing Manager Japan & Korea
About the Role
As Senior Marketing Manager for Japan & Korea, you will be at the heart of Swiss Re's commercial growth strategy in the APAX region. You will own and drive end-to-end marketing campaigns - from awareness to conversion - that deepen client relationships, elevate our brand presence, and empower origination teams to close deals with confidence. Reporting to the Head of Marketing L&H Re, you will be a key connector between global strategy and local execution, ensuring that every marketing activity resonates with the cultural nuances and business dynamics of Japan and Korea.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Proactively collaborate with Japan & Korea Market Heads and their broader teams to develop, align, and execute local marketing strategies that integrate seamlessly with global plans across three Business Units (BUs) – L&H, P&C and Corporate Solutions.

Audience Targeting: Partner with the global marketing team and regional marketing services hub to define precise customer segments, profiles, and compelling messaging tailored to local markets.

Marketing Activation: Design, manage, and execute full-funnel marketing and sales enablement activities for Japan & Korea, selecting the optimal channel mix while ensuring cultural sensitivity and local nuances are embedded throughout.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local leadership teams, client underwriting teams, claims, sales, and cross-functional teams (XFTs) to align and amplify local marketing efforts across all three BUs.

Sales Enablement & Client Research: Consult with Japan & Korea leadership to identify sales enablement needs, support the implementation of global sales excellence initiatives locally, and ensure origination teams are equipped with the right materials, tools, and resources to convert leads and close deals effectively.

PR & Media: Collaborate closely with the media relations team to ensure message consistency, amplify campaign coverage, and effectively position Swiss Re's leaders and solutions in the marketplace — including sourcing local stories and coordinating content creation and promotional plans.

Budget & Performance Reporting: Own the local marketing budget, respond to global performance reporting requests, and present impactful results to local leadership to continuously optimise the marketing planning cycle.
About the Team
L&H Marketing team sits within Swiss Re's Branding & Marketing division and is dedicated to driving commercial impact through innovative, insight-led marketing across the Life & Health Reinsurance business. We work closely with Business Unit Marketing Heads and local market teams to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that span awareness, engagement, and conversion. With a collaborative, global mindset and a strong focus on local relevance, the team plays a pivotal role in strengthening Swiss Re's market presence and supporting business growth across key regions worldwide.
About You
You are a seasoned marketing professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You bring a deep understanding of complex, matrixed environments and have a natural ability to build trusted relationships across cultures and seniority levels. You are a confident communicator, a creative problem-solver, and someone who takes ownership — bringing energy, curiosity, and a results-driven mindset to everything you do. You are equally comfortable presenting to senior leadership as you are rolling up your sleeves to deliver impactful marketing initiatives on the ground.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

10+ years of experience in marketing and communications roles with a proven track record of delivering measurable commercial impact.

Exceptional communication skills — strong written and verbal abilities in both Japanese and English (fluency in both languages is essential), with the outstanding ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

Proven project management and organisational skills — demonstrated ability to manage multiple campaigns and stakeholders simultaneously, delivering results on time and within budget

Ability to designs integrated marketing strategies across channels and markets, aligning stakeholders and coordinating complex campaigns across the customer journey.

Ensuring consistency in messaging, timing, and execution across initiatives, with timely reporting.

Industry knowledge - familiarity with the (re)insurance sector in a B2B marketing role or a related financial services environment is strongly preferred

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Management, Communications, or Economics.

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week. Limited travel expected.
