Senior Underwriter Property Fac

Position Summary

 

Underwriting

  • Analyze and assess technical (re)insurability regarding exposures and coverage on new offer and renewal submissions
  • Structure, price and offer proposals
  • Maintain and improve portfolio quality
  • Establish and maintain specific industry and perils expertise for underwriting

 

Origination

  • Actively lead, originate and build up robust pipelines by identifying new opportunities

 

Client Facing

  • Represent Swiss Re in meetings with clients and brokers
  • Establish and maintain client and broker relationship

 

Main Tasks / Activities

 

  • Assess, price and structure business offered. Deploy capacity effectively, maximizing actual underwriting profit
  • Ensure that best underwriting practice is consistently adapted and ensure our services is delivered in a professional and timely manner
  • Actively identify client needs and growth potential, and develop tailor-made solutions in cooperation with clients and brokers
  • Keep abreast of developments in commercial & industrial property market both in Japan and the international market
  • Represent Swiss Re in the market, build partnership with key clients and brokers and actively manage the relationship
  • Closely work in cooperation with colleagues within Swiss Re inside and outside Japan

 

About You

 

Skills / Expertise

  • Several years’ commercial & industrial property underwriting experience in insurance and/or facultative reinsurance
  • Team player within the local & international culture
  • Language skills of Japanese and English
  • Ability to understand, assess and foresee the clients' needs
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, originating and driving business
  • Communication & negotiation skill

 

The base salary range for this position will be shared with you during the interview process.
