About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Canadian P&C Reinsurance division, driving the success of some of Swiss Re's most critical client relationships. You will support Client Managers in owning selected clients and in driving their client management responsibilities. As part of your role, you will ensure that client activities are performed accurately, efficiently and according to relevant timelines. Our coordinators are the backbone of the division, enabling our client facing teams to achieve their business goals and become the preferred partners for our clients. We are looking for the glue that sticks our cross-functional teams together and interacts with colleagues from other functions, such as Underwriting, Business Development, Finance, Claims, Technical Accounting, Legal and Business Services. The role offers technical development, deeper understanding of (re)insurance, client interactions, and the opportunity to develop sales, strategy, and communication skills.

 

You will report into the Lead for Market Unit Operations Americas and collaborate with Divisional Operating Officer CanadaYour core responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Client Managers in leading their cross-functional teams, i.e., steering, preparing, and coordinating meetings and other activities, managing partners and communication, following up on action items
  • Assisting with the ongoing support and creation of Client Strategy and Action Plans
  • Preparing high-quality, impactful marketing materials in coordination with the cross-functional team
  • Drive the sales funnel in coordination with the Client Manager
  • Preparing internal and external communication, e.g., to clients, internal stakeholders, including executive management level
  • Analyzing internal and external client data, including coordination with Finance team and other data providers, and preparing performance reports
  • Supporting the process for client surveys and other instruments including the preparation of distribution lists, interpretation of results and development of improvement plans with the client team
  • Coordinating ad-hoc client, industry and market requests and events
  • Ensuring collaboration with other client teams and other markets/ functional units and sharing knowledge and best practices effectively
  • Deputizing Client Managers on defined tasks
  • Maintain current knowledge of business practices, industry trends, and regulatory conditions
  • Supporting the Canada Executive Team through Strategy Days, Culture Days, Monthly Meetings, Roundtables and Townhalls and helping execute and monitor the Group Strategy

 

About You

  • A four-year college degree or equivalent is highly preferred
  • Reinsurance knowledge and Property & Casualty and/or Life & Health experience is beneficial
  • Excellent organizer, flexible and able to work effectively under tight deadlines and execute both independently and in a team
  • Highly motivated, result-oriented and ambitious individual who can think analytically and critically
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams, spread over multiple locations
  • Storytelling ability with a strong interest in being a part of the client sales team
  • You are proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable reacting to and managing rapidly evolving business needs
  • You thrive on problem solving and can constructively look at new ways of doing things
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (marketing knowledge a plus) and integrity when communicating with internal and external partners
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and solid knowledge of other Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word) and a strong sense for visual design (in PowerPoint) is a definite plus
  • Knowledge of basic financial ratios and (re/insurance) accounting principles is a plus
