Actuarial Intern (Summer 2025)
About the Team:
Our team is part of L&H Portfolio Steering & Monitoring (PSM), within the Chief Underwriting Office (CUO). PSM aim to generate insights and connect our business to proactively steer L&H in delivering sustainable profit. The role will support the work of our portfolio management actuaries in the Global Portfolio Management area, with a strong focus on Canada, in activities such as Identifying and monitoring key portfolio risks, and improving our monitoring capabilities via data and tech. Students will have opportunity to work with colleagues within in the Toronto office, as well as across the globe.
About the Role:
As a participant of the Swiss Re Co-op program, you'll take on concrete tasks and various projects straightaway, supported by your team. Networking, social and business events will allow you to fully experience Swiss Re's company culture.
About You
Education and Technical Skills
- Must be available to work for Summer 2025.
- Pursuing and currently enrolled in Bachelor of Commerce, or a Bachelor or Master's in Actuarial science, mathematics, or related fields.
- Exceptional academic performance (GPA of 3.0 and above).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Completion of 1 or more internships in insurance, or business is preferred.
- Completion of 2 or more actuarial exams is an asset.
- Candidates should have proficient MS Office skills, especially Excel.
- Exposure to relevant analytics tools (e.g. Stargate, R Programming or PowerBI) are definite assets.
