About the Role & Team:

Are you passionate about actuarial data analysis? Do you want to learn from the best? Do you want to work on a global regulatory project? We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, goal driven senior actuarial students to support us in our global IFRS implementation project.


Specific activities will include: 

  • Model (GGY AXIS and MS Access) construction/validation, experience studies, financial reporting, including GAAP and EVM (Economic Value Management) reporting
  • Perform IFRS 17 financial and operational impact assessment
  • Performing data analytics using various software and data analytics tools
  • Supporting non-traditional actuarial valuations
  • Challenge and improve the underlying actuarial process at Swiss Re, including but not limited to reserving, and capital models.


You will be a part of the global IFRS implementation project team, working with colleagues based in Toronto, US and globally.

Education and Technical Skills

  • Pursuing a Bachelors' degree from a University in the fields Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel, VBA, AXIS, SQL) are definite asset
  • Prior reinsurance work experience is preferred
  • Completion of 2 or more actuarial exams is preferred.


Abilities and Knowledge

  • Highly collaborative, ability to keep appropriate individuals informed and actively demonstrate team work
  • Excellent listening and communication skills and the ability to foster strong working relationships.
  • Superior organization skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
