Technical Accountant

By paying claims accurately and on time, processing premium quickly and by responding to our external and internal partners questions and requests for information on a timely basis. We are looking for a person who shares these values and commitments to join the Accident & Health Technical Accounting team.
About the Role
- Process claims on a daily basis and communicating with our external partners when payments are made
- Process premium receipts on a daily basis
- Follow up on premium discrepancies with the sending party via email. This involves explaining the issue and provided documentation supporting why the discrepancy occurred and asking how the issue will be corrected
- Timely response to requests for information from both external and internal parties
- Daily reconciliation of claim bank accounts to ensure that all payments clear our bank accounts
- Follow up on outstanding checks
- Hybrid office model based out of Windsor CT
About the Team
The CorSo North America Technical Accounting team members are dedicated to relentlessly collecting, applying and disbursing monies for policies and claims for the fast growing Employer Stop Loss (Accident and Health) line of business.
About You
Essentials
- Willingness to learn different functions within the A&H Technical Accounting team
- Insurance industry experience, premium and claim handling preferred
- Experience in cash application and discrepancy resolution
- Capability to recognize a problem, develop and implement a solution and update processes to minimize future occurrences
- Consistent track record of being a self-starter and working with limited guidance, ability to manage own workload effectively
- Customer Service focused with the ability to interact with customers to resolve questions quickly and satisfactorily
- Results-oriented working style, with strong focus on performance, targets and risk management
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong math skills
