Operations Team Lead- A&H

About the Role:

As an Operations Lead for Accident & Health your primary goal will be to develop and empower your team to ensure they fulfill their potential, achieve goals, and provide effective support to internal and external clients. Strong business judgment, client orientation, a natural tendency to be curious and exceptional communication skills are all essential to success.

 

Duties and responsibilities directly impact productivity, process efficiency, timeliness, profitability, and accuracy related to Employer Stop Loss products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with the Operations team, underwriting, sales, technical accounting, claims and external clients, while ensuring high quality of work
  • Lead team to deliver against timeliness, quality, and productivity metrics, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Recognize and acknowledge the skills of team members, help them unlock their potential, identify growth areas, and build on their strengths
  • Provide training and mentorship for complex processes, documents, and appropriate audit procedures
  • Evaluate staffing needs throughout the year and complete the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring process

About You:

Essentials:

  • Medical stop loss experience in the RFP intake and/or Policy issuance process
  • Effective interpersonal skills and leadership: encourage, empower, develop, and lead a team while providing feedback
  • Ability to prioritize and plan, coordinate, and monitor team’s workload
  • Strong analytical skills  and attention to details
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

 

Nice To Have:

  • University degree (2 years) or experience equivalent
  • Experience managing or leading others
  • Familiarity with excel and word programs

 

 

Special items to note:

  • Position may require occasional travel.
  • Position may require overtime during peak/busy season. 
  • This role will be unable to offer any assistance with relocation or visa sponsorship.

  • The position is flexible to either our Windsor, CT or Kansas City, MO offices. Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office two to three days per week on average.
