About the Role
As an Actuarial Reserving Intern in our CorSo team, you'll gain hands-on experience with cuttingedge analytical tools and methodologies while contributing to meaningful projects that impact our business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize program codes using statistical software R and Microsoft Power BI to support process automation
- Support the analysis of quarterly reserve estimations for Corporate Solutions insurance portfolios
- Contribute to the development of deep-dive analyses and statistical reports that provide valuable business insights
- Collaborate with team members on various projects and initiatives to enhance reserving processes
- Assist in ad hoc analyses and tasks that support the broader actuarial function
About the Team
The Zurich actuarial reserving team in Corporate Solutions consists of actuaries and data scientists with diverse cultural backgrounds. We value a good team and collaborative spirit. We frequently interact with many stakeholders from different functions. Therefore, we value strong communication skills on top of technical expertise.
About You
You're an analytical thinker with strong technical aptitude and a curiosity about the insurance industry. You enjoy solving complex problems and are eager to learn in a professional environment. You thrive both working independently and as part of a collaborative team
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Student or recent graduate with technical background such as mathematics, actuarial science, physics, or other quantitative subject
- Broad experience with developing program codes using R or Python
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Independent thinker who works well in a team setting
- Fluent in English
These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience with visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau
- Knowledge of insurance or reinsurance concepts
- Previous internship experience in a related field
- Additional language skills
The start date is as soon as possible with an internship duration of 3 to 6 months, depending on availability and agreement.
