The Cat Perils team consists of about 50 dedicated scientists and engineers in multi-faceted technical fields. We create value for Swiss Re by driving confident natural catastrophe risk decisions.
Within Cat Perils, the kernel team is a small team of specialists dedicated to the development and maintenance of Swiss Re’s cat modelling algorithms. These codes define how to interpret exposure data for insured items, encode them into the numerical model world, simulate financial losses and apply re/insurance structures.
