Claims Specialist (Hybrid - m/f/x/d)

About the Role 

As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for a claims portfolio, analyse underlying claims trends in the portfolio by using the latest technology and technically assess claims that need your attention. You share the insights that you gain with your stakeholders, like Underwriting and Reserving. You’ll work under the guidance of senior claims experts, gaining exposure to a variety of claims scenarios and developing your skills in an engaging environment. You build and own the client relationships for your respective markets and support with the global clients claims strategy and relationship management. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage your own claims portfolio under the guidance of senior claims experts. 
  • Monitor the movements in your responsibility by using the latest technology and evaluate the claims that need your attention together with senior claims experts and key case managers 
  • Share your claims insights with stakeholders across the value chain to improve the profitability of the business, 
  • Closely collaborate in cross functional teams, especially with Underwriting and Reserving 
  • Participate in client service activities, including claims reviews and training sessions, as required. 
  • Collaborate with expert networks and deepen your knowledge in P&C lines of business  
  • Contribute to industry events and client meetings. 
  • Support your claims team in the development of data driven portfolio analytics  

 

About the Team 

The WSE & MEA & Globals WSE team manages claims portfolios across diverse regions. In your role, you’ll work closely with experienced colleagues, contribute to team goals, and build foundational expertise in claims management. 

 

About You 

You are a detail-oriented professional with good analytical abilities and effective communication skills. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to learn and contribute to team success. Your ability to support claims management and maintain strong client relationships sets you apart. 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements: 

  • University degree or equivalent qualification. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the re-/insurance industry in Underwriting, Claims or Finance. 
  • Basic understanding of insurance principles and market practices. 
  • Ability to leverage artificial intelligence tools and technologies to enhance claims analysis and decision-making. 
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and either French or Spanish, ideally both. 

 

These are additional nice to haves: 

  • Experience working in international or multicultural environments. 
  • Knowledge of multiple lines of business. 
  • Exposure to project coordination is beneficial. 
  • Digital literacy and experience with artificial intelligence projects. 
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, conferences, and team collaborations. 

 

For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between CHF 93'000 and CHF 139,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers: 
 
•    the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
•    the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
 
In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus. 
 
Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
