Financial Analyst - Graduate (Hybrid, m/f/x/d)

About the Role

 

As part of the Financial Assumptions team you will dive into the world of economic financial assumptions and related methodologies used for Group financial reporting (IFRS) as well as regulatory reporting, Swiss Solvency Test (SST) in particular, working closely together with different stakeholders.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Regular review of financial assumptions used for IFRS and SST with particular focus on the compensation for risk
  • Maintaining our framework for SST Available Capital to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
  • Applying new technologies, analytical methods and programming to develop products and tools that streamline the process from data transformation to insight generation
  • Presenting your results in front of senior stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Support trainings that the team provides on financial assumptions

 

About the Team 

 

We are a small and dynamic team within Group Finance, responsible for the key financial assumptions used in external reporting and the maintenance and development of the methodology for the SST Available Capital. Based in Zurich and Bratislava, our team's focus is on developing meaningful financial assumptions and acting as a center of competence for everything related. Our team collaborates with different functions within Swiss Re (e.g., Risk Management, Treasury, Asset Management) to achieve our goals and regularly reports to various senior management functions and external stakeholders, in particular regulators and auditors.

About You 

 

We are looking for a creative problem solver with strong analytical skills and a comprehensive financial thinking. The perfect candidate is detail-oriented with a high degree of autonomous work ethics who at the same time also enjoys collaborating with others to achieve the best results possible. You should be a curious person who is motivated to discover, discuss and rethink new concepts and ideas on a regular basis. Essentials:

 

  • University degree, preferably in economics, finance, or other equivalent business-related field. Actuarial skills as an asset
  • Passionate about the (re-)insurance business, economics and financial reporting 
  • Mature and self-confident, with the aptitude to express him-/herself efficiently in one-on-one conversations and in small groups
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Knowledge and interest in data science and programming complete your profile
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
