Financial Analyst SST P&C (Hybrid; m/f/x/d; 80-100%)

About the Role

 

We are seeking for a motivated individual to support the production of the P&C SST results for our Swiss-domiciled legal entities. You will contribute to the success of this key process within the Finance department and interact with the delegated authorities. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Support the preparation and production of the SST results for liabilities for all Swiss-domiciled legal entities of Reinsurance groups and the Group 
  • Monitor data quality gates (pre-close activities as well as continuous process throughout the SST closing) 
  • Perform consistency checks and additional data review tasks and identify/act on data correction activities in close collaboration with Sub-ledger, GL and other teams 
  • Prepare and validate manual adjustments at the Group level. Adhere to controls and generate meaningful evidence 
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve, standardise and automate the current processes  
  • Acquire a detailed understanding of economic balance sheets and analyse and validate economic legal entity balance sheets used for SST 
  • Collaborate effectively with peers and other team members to achieve common goals 

 

About the Team

 

Global Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) is the unit responsible for the accounting and reporting of accurate and consistent financial information for Swiss Re for external reporting and internal analysis facilitating strategic decision-making. This includes IFRS for Group as well as statutory financial information for all Swiss Re legal entities, including SST and Solvency II. GFO&T spearheads the transformation of Global Finance, streamlining it towards a simpler, more effective forward-looking organisation.

About You

 

You have strong analytical skills, combined with a holistic view of Finance financial thinking and be able to interpret financial data. You demonstrate strong personal accountability and are competent to work a flexible schedule and deliver under time pressure. You possess the ability to perform tasks with a minimum support and some degree of autonomy, but also collaborate with all partners to deliver on clearly attributed goals and objectives. 

 

Your profile:

  • University graduate with primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in economics, finance, accounting or a quantitative field (or Fachmann/-frau im Finanz- und Rechnungswesen, CMA) 
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in Accounting/Finance 
  • Knowledge of quarterly accounting and closing processes with sound understanding of financial statements; Basic understanding of international accounting standard IFRS, SST or SII is a plus 
  • Detail oriented and diligent in execution, balanced and willing to acquire necessary system and technical knowledge (familiarity with data models and consistency check requirements is a plus) 
  • Ability to handle both conceptual and practical challenges 
  • Strong and effective communication, service and client-oriented skills at all organization levels of the company 
  • Team-player, eagerness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit  
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications 
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral, is a must
