HR Immigration Specialist (Hybrid - m/f/x/d 50-70%)

About the Role

 

Together with your immigration specialist colleague, you are responsible for all matters related to work permits in Switzerland. 

 

Main tasks:

  • Responsible for end-to-end process for all services on work permit issues for Switzerland including gathering all documents and information, write application letters and make sure permits are approved in due time and act as point of contact for employees, line managers and HR colleagues
  • Actively support Business Travelers for inbound Switzerland and arrange work permits (120 day permits)
  • Support International Mobility Experts and HR Partners with arranging the appropriate work permit
  • Provide legal advice in immigration law topics 
  • Keep track of all new permit applications and inform employees how to proceed once the permit has been approved
  • Maintain overview of all existing employees' work permits and make sure renewals are done timely
  • Make sure any updates and changes in the immigration law are reflected and implemented accordingly by adjusting processes and informing the relevant departments 
  • Work closely with the authorities and implement governmental requirements accordingly
  • Managing SECO permits for night and shift work
  • Participating in projects as Subjects Matter Expert (SME)
  • Responsible for cost calculation and coordination of international short-term rotations (outbounds from Switzerland, inbounds to Switzerland, global constellations) 
  • Considering the impact of different legal fields (interface areas to immigration law: tax implications, social security; having a broad understanding of the legal impacts) 
  • Conduct global training/awareness sessions 
  • Reviewing policies & assignment contracts 

 

About the Team

 

You will be part of the HR Switzerland team which is responsible for operational and strategic HR topics. You will liaise closely with other HR internal functions, your clients in the business, both employees and line managers, as well as the federal immigration offices. Members of our team have a broad variety of backgrounds and our excellent technical expertise is complemented by a strong team spirit, always looking for delivering the best solution for our clients. 

 

About You

 

With your strong service and customer orientation, you enjoy collaborating with your clients and other parties involved to find adequate solutions, using your excellent judgement and specialist knowhow. You're well organised, able to juggle different priorities and tackle issues pro-actively. Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds and to contribute to a collaborative, inclusive environment. 

 

  • Several years of work experience in the immigration law area
  • Broad, general, and up-to-date know-how on Swiss labour law, Swiss immigration law as well as on HR processes and practices
  • Further education in the field of Human Resources or immigration law, e.g. CAS Global Mobility Management, is an advantage
  • Very good language skills in German and English (oral/written)
