As our Head Group Regulatory Risk Management, you will lead strategic initiatives that safeguard our organization while navigating complex regulatory landscapes across multiple jurisdictions.

 

About the Role

 

In this pivotal leadership position, you will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory risks that could impact our operations. You will build influential relationships with regulators while providing expert guidance to internal stakeholders on evolving regulatory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and develop the Group Regulatory Risk Management team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key regulators and supervisory authorities with a special focus on FINMA
  • Monitor and analyze emerging regulatory trends and developments that could affect our business operations
  • Develop strategies to effectively manage regulatory risks across multiple jurisdictions
  • Represent the organization to regulators and in industry working groups
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance while achieving business objectives
  • Provide expert guidance on complex regulatory matters to senior leadership
  • Design and implement effective regulatory risk management frameworks and processes
  • Lead regulatory engagement initiatives and coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries

 

 

About the Team

 

The Group Regulatory Risk Management team is responsible for managing risks arising from changes to existing or new insurance regulation and supervisory regimes that could materially affect Swiss Re. The team also manages risks arising from interactions with regulators and supervisors, ensuring constructive relationships while protecting the organization's interests.

 

 

About You

 

You are a strategic thinker with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at all levels. Your diplomatic approach combined with regulatory expertise enables you to navigate complex stakeholder relationships effectively. You thrive in a dynamic environment and can translate regulatory complexities into clear business implications.

 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

 

  • Solid understanding of reinsurance regulatory environment with specific focus on Switzerland
  • Proven track record of influencing regulators and supervisors on complex matters
  • Excellent organizational, managerial and communication skills
  • Strong command of German and English languages
  • Minimum 10 years work experience in insurance or reinsurance regulatory roles

 

These are additional nice to haves:

 

  • Advanced degree in law, finance, risk management, or related field
  • Background in insurance or reinsurance operations
  • International work experience across multiple regulatory jurisdictions
  • Proficiency in additional languages beyond German and English

 

For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between 170'000 CHF and 254'000 CHF for a full-time role.

 

The specific salary offered considers:

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role

• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience

 

In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.

 

 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week
