In your role you will:

• As part of the Corporate Centre Group Functions (CCGF) legal team, provide legal advice and support in relation to Swiss Re Insurance-Linked Investment Management (SRILIM), which acts as the asset manager for various fund and managed account solutions with the investment objective to provide investors access to Swiss Re's global portfolio of natural catastrophe reinsurance risks.
• Analyze and advise on legal and regulatory risks as they apply to SRILIM, a FINMA-licensed asset manager, with a focus on Swiss law and regulation pertaining to asset management and reinsurance
• Advise in relation to preparation of regulatory reports, responses to FINMA inquiries and other regulatory matters
• Provide corporate governance advice, act as corporate secretary and advise board of directors of SRILIM
• Facilitate coordination and escalation of legal/regulatory matters among SRILIM, Alternative Capital Partners, CCGF legal including in particular Lead ACP Legal, business unit legal, compliance, risk management and other colleagues across Swiss Re's hubs
• Foster and maintain positive working relationships with clients, colleagues and outside law firms.
• Provide legal support for new product development and related transactions (e.g., insurance-linked securities and derivatives, reinsurance retrocession, etc.), as needed
• Provide legal support for the distribution of fund products in Switzerland and other jurisdictions, as needed
• Support internal group projects and strategic initiatives, as needed
• Conduct and/or arrange internal presentations and trainings on legal topics
• Monitor legal and regulatory trends affecting relevant business areas

 

About the Team

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global team that provides legal support to Swiss Re Insurance-Linked Investment Management as part of Alternative Capital Partners. Our internal client (SRILIM) is an experienced team consisting of market leading experts proficient at reinsurance, natural catastrophe risk and asset management operations. In the role of the Legal Counsel of SRILIM, you will work in a team of diverse and highly engaged professionals who are committed to put ethical standards as well as investment and operational excellence front and center.

 

About You

 

Qualification and Experience: 

We are looking for you if you:

•    Have a law degree and qualifications in Switzerland, with a minimum of five years' experience, preferably in asset management regulation and transactions, with a law firm or international financial institution/insurance company
•    Have experience and understanding of asset management regulatory and licensing topics in cross-border scenarios, and ideally also a good understanding of re/insurance business
•    Speak and write in German and English fluently, other languages are a plus
•    Enjoy working independently and handling multiple requests and deadlines
•    Provide high-quality, timely client service that is balanced with a clear focus on protecting the interests and reputation of the firm 
•    Are an effective written and oral communicator and adopt a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
