About the team


Within Reinsurance Finance, our team is responsible for financial analysis and planning for the L&H Reinsurance worldwide with a focus on Economic Valuations and US GAAP.

From our data and our network in the company we aim to provide senior management with key insights into business performance, guiding them to make accurate and impactful decisions.

We also act as a CFO function for the Head of L&H Products and Head of L&H Business Management.

Finally, we work closely with the pricing and actuarial teams across the globe to ensure quality of the financial information as well as insights from our data and analysis.


About the role


With the transformation in action in Finance, we will require new skills in 2023 and beyond within FP&A. The Graduate will come in time of change; Finance, and FP&A in particular, is moving from producing data to creating meaning. The passionate and motivated candidate will be key to build and shape this transition along with the L&H FP&A team, being involved in all key tasks and be responsible for the success of the full team. We are a small team with various background owning the L&H financials data and key partners to Pricing, Actuarial, Claims and Operation functions. As data is the future of insurance, the successful candidate will use it, learn from it and translate data into impactful information for the whole organization.

The Graduate will also help built talent pipeline for expected changes in the team due to new aspiration.



What you will contribute to:



Ensure data quality, smooth quarterly process

Our data is used globally across the organization by pricing, actuarial, accounting and other finance functions.


With data being easily accessible, we need to develop the analytics tool allowing us to provide financial information with more insights.

As business partner to product and business management functions, we are expected to fully understand the financial to detect early warning signals  


Automatize our quarterly reporting from a data side but also streamline the commenting side

Reporting is one of our key deliverable to enable other functions however once data quality is there it won't take most of our time anymore

Business partnering

Be a key contributor to the Portfolio teams

Develop specific knowledge which will be necessary to build portfolio strategies.


What you will learn:



Fine understanding of the L&H business and its specificities across multiple valuation (IFRS, EVM,…)

Overview of Swiss Re finance system landscape and how complex organization are managed

Market knowledge, understanding or market dynamics and challenges, product strategy

Data & Analytics

Programing on Palantir's Stargate platform mainly based on Python

Handling complex and large dataset, extracting usable and impactful information

Data quality management

Soft Skills

Interacting with senior management at eye level while delivering strong messages

Perform in a collaborative and agile environment

Being efficient at multitasking with fixed timeline and high expectation

Being professional while having fun in the team


About you


Team player, reliable, open-minded, creative and enthusiastic.

Capable of analysing numbers critically and drawing out relevant conclusions

Strong MS Excel skills and good programming skills (PySpark, Python or like)

Enjoys working in a multicultural team.

University degree, preferably in economics, finance, business administration or natural sciences, actuarial background is a plus.

Excellent oral & written English. Other languages a plus.
