Positioning & Planning Lead (80 - 100%, Hybrid, m/f/x/d)

About the role

 

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and managing the external positioning of Swiss Re and its leadership. This includes developing compelling and timely messages on key topics in close collaboration with internal teams and subject matter experts. The positioning will be implemented through global communications campaigns that the candidate and their team will design and deliver, informed by data-led insights into reputational risks and opportunities.


Key responsibilities


•    Develop and refine strategic positioning for Swiss Re and its leadership, aligned with business goals, stakeholder expectations and our Communications intelligence
•    Lead the development of narrative frameworks and core messages on key issues in close collaboration with Media Relations, regional/business communication teams as well as business experts 
•    Anticipate reputational risks and identify opportunities to shape positioning responses accordingly
•    Enhance thought leadership positioning of Swiss Re by managing campaigns that showcase Swiss Re and its leaders as credible voice on relevant global issues 
•    Lead the planning and coordination of positioning-related initiatives across teams, ensuring alignment, prioritization, and timely execution
•    Ensure global positioning efforts are insight-driven, regularly reviewed, and continuously improved based on feedback and results
•    Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints
•    Act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on how to best articulate the company's purpose, values, and relevance
•    Lead a team of four content experts 

 

About you


•    Proven experience in corporate positioning, strategic communications, or reputation management
•    Strong storytelling and content development capabilities
•    Ability to synthesize complex ideas into compelling narratives
•    Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, including at executive level
•    Track record of driving thought leadership and positioning in a global environment
•    Experience in financial services, insurance, or reinsurance is an advantage
•    Insight-driven, proactive, and attuned to external developments and stakeholder expectations

 

For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between 118,000 EUR  and EUR 176,000 for a full-time role.

The specific salary offered considers:

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,

• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience. In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
