About the Role

 

As a Public Affairs Associate at Swiss Re, you will position Swiss Re as a leading authority on risk and resilience with key stakeholders across the re/insurance industry and beyond. You'll build influence with decision makers, drive engagement in global policy debates, and shape the conversations that matter most to our business.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Resilience topic for Public Affairs, developing strategies to shape stakeholder thinking and positioning Swiss Re as a go-to voice
  • Foster strong relationships with government bodies, international organisations, industry associations and think tanks
  • Plan and deliver high-impact meetings, roundtables and executive engagements with policymakers and external stakeholders
  • Support senior executives by writing compelling briefings, presentations and social media content
  • Build partnerships and alliances across the Group to maximise the impact of Swiss Re's thought leadership
  • Manage stakeholder databases, engagement plans and reporting to ensure effective knowledge management
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and new technologies to enhance research, stakeholder management and operational efficiency
  • Track and measure success against defined targets and KPIs

About You

 

You are a curious, results-driven professional with strong political judgement and a passion for engaging policy audiences. You bring a collaborative spirit, a creative mindset and the confidence to challenge the status quo — all while managing multiple priorities with precision and integrity.

 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

 

  • Professional-level experience in a public affairs, policy or advocacy role in the private or public sector, with an advanced degree in a related field (e.g. political science, international affairs, macroeconomics, PPE)
  • Exceptional communication skills — able to write fluently and compellingly in English and present with confidence at all levels Strong AI competence, including hands-on experience developing tools to facilitate tasks and projects
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Excellent understanding of global issues and trends, with knowledge of key decision makers and opinion leaders on the world stage

  • Knowledge of the re/insurance industry
  • Proficiency in languages other than English
  • Very strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Experience working with or advising senior executives
  • Familiarity with stakeholder engagement platforms and reporting tools

 

For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between 80,000 CHF and 120,000 CHF for a full-time role. The specific salary offered considers:

  • The requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role
  • The applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience

 

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Furthermore, you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits. Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract. Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
