About the team
You’ll join a small team that brings together deep risk, insurance, and actuarial know-how with consulting savvy— fully committed to helping you grow professionally and personally in a warm, close-knit setting. If you’re looking to tap into Swiss Re's 160+ year tradition of technical excellence —while still getting hands-on with latest technology and complex risk challenges—this is the role for you!
About the role
As a Risk Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to support the oversight of the risk profile of Swiss Re’s Risk Data Solutions. This includes contributing to the development of risk insights across strategic initiatives, assessing the risk implications of new products and services before they go to market, and ensuring robust governance across business origination, delivery, and data commercialization.
You will also engage in broader risk topics, such as evaluating the feasibility of financial plans, identifying structural risks like declining competitiveness, and assessing emerging threats across the industry landscape. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders across Risk Data Solutions and the wider Swiss Re organization to promote transparency, challenge assumptions, and enable sound, risk-informed decision-making.
Core responsibilities
- Conduct and support risk reviews across Risk Data Solutions’ strategic initiatives, including product development, platform integration, and go-to-market execution.
- Monitor key risk exposures, such as people, project, financial, and data/platform risks, and ensure mitigation actions are tracked, escalated, and transparently reported.
- Contribute to the development and critical review of business cases, with a focus on cost-benefit analysis, execution feasibility, and strategic alignment.
- Provide risk oversight on commercial activities, including sales origination, pipeline health, and collaboration with (re)insurance divisions.
- Assess broader structural and strategic risks, such as competitiveness, market positioning, and financial sustainability.
- Participate in the review and enhancement of governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal standards and risk policies.
- Draft and contribute to risk reports, management updates, and materials for senior leadership and Board-level discussions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT, Product, and Sales to embed risk-informed decision-making across the business.
- Promote a strong risk culture by supporting awareness initiatives, training sessions, and internal communications.
About you
- 3–5 years of experience in consulting, SaaS, brokerage, or insurance environments, with a demonstrable focus on technology and innovation, bringing a strong external benchmarking mindset and exposure to diverse operating models.
- Practical experience in risk-related financial services—whether in insurance, reinsurance, Insurtech, or brokers—is essential.
- Solid understanding of risk concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively across seniority levels and functions.
- Collaborative and adaptable mindset, with experience working across functions, geographies, and cultures.
- Prior experience in reinsurance, insurance or risk-related roles is a plus.
- Progress toward or completion of relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, actuarial exams) is highly valued.
