Senior Corporate Development Specialist (Hybrid)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Development Specialist to play a leading role in identifying and developing corporate finance opportunities across the entire EMEA region. About the Role
You will be a member of and be supported by a highly skilled team of professionals reporting to the Head of Corporate Development. This role is integral in driving the success of selected M&A transactions and investments by developing relationships with key parties, monitoring ongoing performance, identifying and pursuing value creation efforts/knowledge transfer efforts, maintaining team view whether to pursue liquidity and monitoring/developing exit alternatives.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead execution of Swiss Re Group's M&A transactions, collaborating with external parties, internal colleagues, and advisors
- Represent Swiss Re as a Board Member or Board Observer on existing Participations within the EMEA region
- Identify and analyse new participation opportunities, including strategic fit assessment, financial modeling, and risk/return evaluation
- Develop and maintain a strong network of relationships across EMEA and within the firm to enhance deal sourcing capabilities
- Create and present decision-ready materials for executive committees (e.g., Corporate Development Investment Committee (CDIC) and Group Executive Committee (GEC))
- Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders regarding Participations and M&A activity in the region
- Mentor and develop junior corporate development professionals, supporting their growth and success

About You
You work with a high degree of independence and excellent judgment! An experienced and successful collaborator, you naturally work well within your team and with other functions with ease and partner transparently with others. With exceptional communication skills you can distil complex transaction details into concise, decision-ready briefings.
Additional requirements include:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or a related field and/or MBA preferred
- Minimum 8-10 years full-time, investment banking or corporate M&A experience in financial services. Experience in insurance / reinsurance M&A is strongly preferred
- English fluency is a must. German fluency desirable. Additional European languages are a plus
- Possess a commercial mindset with strong financial acumen
- Proven ability in leading transactions with senior executives and board members of investee companies, external advisors, Swiss Re leadership and cross-functional teams
- Ability to navigate and build trusting relationships with key stakeholders
- Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
For Switzerland, the annual base salary range for this position is between CHF 152 000 and CHF 228 000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
