About the Role
Are you an energetic Data Architect who enjoys working with teams to design and deliver exceptional data driven solutions?
As a Data Architect you will be responsible for supporting the companies' ambition to become a data driven commercial insurer. Working with both internal and external customers, you will need to have strong analytical and conceptual thinking, with the ability to recognize competing requirements and constraints, in order to balance and negotiate trade-offs.
The role is a mix of strong solution architecture awareness combined with a strong background in data modelling and canonical modelling. The role is very much focused on constantly improving the data landscape aimed at democratizing our data assets.
Key Responsibilities
- End to end data analysis, and solution design for data integration and democratisation on a major global program in the Commercial Insurance sector.
- Design and deliver conceptual, logical, canonical, and physical data models across data domains.
- Complex SQL based data analysis
- Maintenance of the logical and physical data models within a CASE tool (SAP Sybase Power Designer), supporting both SDLC and Agile application development approaches.
- Collaborate with your customers, understanding their data needs, finding innovative ways to bring data into their daily process.
- Work with other members of the data team, including data architects, data analysts, data engineers, and data scientists.
- Create full transparency of data for both technical and business customers to know what is available and how to use it.
About the Team
The Data Architecture team plays a critical role in enabling Corporate Solutions' ambition to become a data-driven commercial insurer.
The team is responsible for ensuring consistent, scalable, and governed data architecture across the insurance value chain, supporting underwriting, claims, finance, operations, customer management, and strategic transformation initiatives.
Working closely with Data Engineering, Data Governance, Business Architecture, and Product teams, the function provides the architectural foundation that enables trusted, accessible, and high-quality data across Corporate Solutions.
About You
- Minimum of 5-7 years as a Data Architect.
- Proven track record of delivering results and impact.
- Proven analytical skills and experience in requirements gathering, analysis, data flows and integration.
- Conceptual and logical data and physical modeling; (Sybase Power Designer).
- Strong knowledge of SQL or PySpark for complex data analysis.
- Experience designing and documenting complex integration data flows from multiple applications including data warehousing design, both dimensional and 3NF.
- SDLC and Agile/SCRUM software development processes.
- Ability to understand and internalize an organization’s strategy and culture, and contribute to their implementation and reinforcement through technology architecture and data designs.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring how AI can benefit Data Architecture, enabling more intelligent modelling, faster analysis, enhanced data governance, and improved collaboration across engineering and business teams.
- Industry experience in Insurance/Re-Insurance is highly desirable.

For Switzerland the base salary range for this position is between CHF 128,000] and CHF 192,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
