About Swiss Re

The Swiss Re Group is one of the world’s leading providers of reinsurance, insurance and other forms of insurance-based risk transfer, working to make the world more resilient. It anticipates and manages risk – from natural catastrophes to climate change, from ageing populations to cybercrime. The aim of the Swiss Re Group is to enable society to thrive and progress, creating new opportunities and solutions for its clients. Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, where it was founded in 1863, the Swiss Re Group operates through a network of around 80 offices globally. It is organised into three Business Units, each with a distinct strategy and set of objectives contributing to the Group’s overall mission.

About the role

The future is closer than you think. The dynamic world of autonomous cars, drones, unmanned trains and whatever visionaries like Elon Musk next come up with, all have the potential to hugely disrupt Casualty business.

By 2050, many predict that nearly every car will be driverless. Given the important part motor plays in our portfolio, should we look forward to driverless technology? What are the benefits and risks? How will this affect our clients' portfolios? Which markets will lead, which will lag? What role will telematics play? And how do we transition?

P&C Solutions has looked into these questions and subsequently built a new and highly advanced Automotive Strategy. Technological developments like automated cars and telematics will have a big impact on Motor insurance. To execute this and other digital and creative strategies, a new Product and Technology Hub has been set up. To guarantee being on the forefront, in select cases, it partners with innovative companies to co-develop products and technologies.

To help us positioning Swiss Re as a leader in the motor space, we are looking for you.

As Senior Motor Claims Process Engineer at the Automotive OEM Partnerships team, your main responsibilities will be:

  • You would design the entire motor insurance claims process from A-Z
  • You would take out the inefficiencies and then build the most optimal claims process
  • You would translate your long-term claims experience in designing efficient and secure processes
  • You would collaborate with other process engineers in driving towards the vision, operational strategy and process efficiency and closely coordinate with IT and external partners
  • You would rethink, optimize and redesign claims management and handling
  • You would eliminate gaps and leaks in the claims handling process
