About the Role

 

Your job will entail originating, evaluating and underwriting facultative business within your assigned portfolios. You will be able to assess a wide range of risk types with your experience and by applying innovative models. A meaningful part of your role will be to foster client and broker relationships and develop new opportunities with prospective clients. You will collaborate with client managers, market underwriters and treaty underwriters in a cross-functional team. Together we build on our partnerships with our clients and share our knowledge, with the objective to bring value for the client and Swiss Re. This role offers you lots of space to develop own ideas and find creative solutions.

About you

 

We are happy to meet you if:

 

  • you hold a University degree or equivalent
  • you have min. three years of experience in Casualty underwriting (insurance or reinsurance) or in the facultative broker business, preferably in a market in Europe, Middle East or Africa
  • you have outstanding analytical skills
  • you see yourself as a sales person and dealmaker
  • you have excellent verbal and written communication skills in French & English, knowledge of Spanish would be a plus
  • you are pragmatic and solution-oriented
  • you are an outstanding teammate who can work independently, deal with different complex multi-disciplinary projects simultaneously, take ownership for making decisions and help others out where and when vital
  • you are confident dealing with ambiguous situations, working under pressure and adapting to a changing environment with the required flexibility and positivity
  • you are open-minded, trustworthy, enthusiastic and curious to learn
