Sustainability Risk Intern (Hybrid, m/f/x/d, 6 months)
About the Role
The Sustainability Risk Management team integrates environmental, social and governance risk issues into Swiss Re's business. We do this by scanning the horizon for future risks and developments, assessing their impact on Swiss Re, and enabling forward-looking decision-making. We also coordinate and oversee the company-wide ESG Risk Framework and selectively represent our sustainability risk efforts externally.
As an intern in Sustainability Risk Management, you:
- Conduct sustainability due diligence assessments of transactions and issue business recommendations.
- Contribute to key sustainability projects on nature and climate risk, with a focus on project work and documenting processes.
- Work on core tasks of the team, including managing data on sustainability risks.
The internship will start on September 1st and last for 6 months
About the Team
Sustainability Risk Management consists of a team of 10 people based in Zurich, from a diverse range of countries and backgrounds, including environmental science, engineering, legal, human geography and more. We collaborate daily with colleagues across Swiss Re, creating a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment where your voice matters.
About You

Your can-do attitude helps you stay motivated and adaptable, even in dynamic situations. If so, this position could be a great opportunity for you. Ideal candidates will have:
- A Master's level education in an area of sustainability (e.g. natural sciences, environmental economics, social sciences etc.)
- Experience in a diverse and global environment
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Relevant previous internship or volunteering experience (e.g. on corporate responsibility, with an NGO, public sector etc.)
- Project management experience
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus
