Underwriter Credit & Surety (Hybrid - m/f/x/d)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and result oriented Underwriter to join the North American Credit & Surety Underwriting team in the US or Zurich.
Growing economic profit from Credit & Surety clients in your dedicated geographical area of responsibility will fall under your remit. You will be responsible to accurately assess and cost Credit & Surety reinsurance products and provide high-quality Underwriting analyses and decisions, consistent with Swiss Re’s risk appetite and guidelines. You will provide clients with reinsurance solutions to meet their marketing objectives, regulatory constraints, and profitability targets.
Main activities of this role:
- Assist analyzing treaty and facultative business regarding risks, exposure and profitability and conduct adequate costing.
- Provide underwriting recommendations ensuring business is underwritten in compliance with Swiss Re’s guidelines and policies.
- Regularly interact with insurance clients, brokers, and professional service providers in credit ecosystems to gather relevant information on market trends and opportunities as well as ensure a diligent underwriting and claims management.
- Ensure efficient coordination with internal stakeholders in Market Units, Business Services, Credit Risk Management, Contracts, Business Management and Finance.
- Handle underwriting administrative tasks, including: special acceptances analysis and recommendation, review of contractual documents and endorsement requests, data input, maintain data quality of portfolio

About you
- Ideally, three years of track record in surety underwriting field.
- Knowledge of the surety product and market.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, high interpersonal skills combined with a “can do” attitude.
- You are a great teammate who naturally brings individuals together as needed, across countries and functions.
