Advisory & Partnership Intern (6-month Internship - Hybrid; m/f/x/d; 80-100%)
We are looking for a motivated 6-month Intern to join the Strategic Partnerships Team, supporting our work across strategic partnerships, councils and external stakeholder engagement. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to how Swiss Re builds, manages and activates its external networks and partnerships across a range of strategic topics.
About the Role
You will support the team in stakeholder management, agenda setting, research, project coordination and the preparation of senior-level engagements. This includes working across selected councils and strategic partnerships, supporting the development of meeting agendas and briefing materials, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and helping translate external insights into relevant perspectives for Swiss Re.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support the management and coordination of selected strategic partnerships and council engagements, including preparation, follow-up and stakeholder coordination
- Contribute to agenda setting and content preparation for council engagements, council meetings, conferences and external partner interactions
- Conduct research and synthesize insights on relevant political, economic, technological, societal and industry developments
- Prepare briefings, presentations, meeting materials and stakeholder analyses for internal and external audiences
- Support the team in maintaining an effective overview of key stakeholders, engagements, deliverables and partnership activities
- Work across functions to gather perspectives and ensure relevant Swiss Re expertise is reflected in external engagements
- Explore and apply AI-enabled tools and new ways of working to improve research, stakeholder management, knowledge sharing and team effectiveness
The internship offers the chance to better understand the strategic and operating environment of a global company, including working across functions, engaging with external partners and translating evolving global developments into relevant business perspectives.
About the Team
The Strategic Partnerships Team connects Swiss Re with leading external organisations, councils, thought leaders and strategic networks to strengthen the Group's access to insights, relationships and opportunities.
Working across organisational priorities, the team helps ensure that Swiss Re is represented in a trusted, credible and coordinated way across key external fora and partnerships. Our engagements cover a broad range of emerging and strategic topics, including geopolitical, economic, technological, environmental, societal and health-related developments.
We operate in a collaborative, international and fast-moving environment, combining strategic thinking with strong execution and stakeholder management.
About You
- Bachelor's degree or ongoing Master's degree in business, economics, international relations or a related field
- Enthusiasm for engaging with stakeholders, working in partnerships, and identifying global trends
- Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information
- Strong communication skills, including preparing high-quality presentations and briefings
- Strong organisational skills and ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and stakeholders
- Hands-on mentality, solution orientation, intellectual curiosity and empathy
- Collaborative mindset, openness to different perspectives and willingness to contribute ideas
- Enthusiasm for engaging with people and building trusted relationships across levels and functions
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, PowerBI and Excel skills; project management tools are an advantage
- Curiosity about AI and natural language processing, particularly their practical applications
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage
- Availability for a 6-month internship based in Zurich
- Valid work permit for the applied location
The start date is 1. October, with an internship duration of 6 months.
